The International Bach Academy Stuttgart has the word «international» in its name for a reason: conductor and academy director Hans-Christoph Rademann and his ensemble, the Gaechinger Cantorey, are embarking on their second concert tour of South America after 2018. They will give six concerts in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. The musicians will also give master classes in baroque instrumental playing for students of the Early Music Department at the University of São Paulo. Hans-Christoph Rademann and his ensemble will also work with the children from the music school of the Associação Comunitária Monte Azul. In three favelas of Brazil’s largest city, this non-governmental organization carries out exemplary social work using the Waldorf education method developed in Stuttgart. The aid organization’s relationship with the Bach Academy is based on family connections and has existed for many years. The International Bach Academy Stuttgart, which has seen itself as a cultural ambassador since its founding in 1981, maintains a wide range of links with Latin America. The first International Bach Festival in Stuttgart will take place in March 2025 under the motto “Bach and Latin America”.
